PMVA Training

We recognise there are occasions whereby physical intervention would beused to safely manage risks presented to an individual’s safety and other people. Any form of physical intervention should be the least restrictive option concerning the risk posed at the time and should promote safety and dignity in line with national guidance and ethical guidance – hence PMVA training. PMVA helps individuals use reasonable, proportionate and necessary force in line with the law whilst protecting themselves as an individual as well as maintaining the dignity and safety of those presenting challenging behaviour or aggression, especially whilst working within mental health settings. Similar to Mapa training acredited by the RRN, both achieve the same standards of safety both used within the NHS however PMVA is accredited by the GSA.
